Dr. Arteaga, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology)

Dr. Theresa Arteaga, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology) received her bachelors of science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in biochemistry and environmental toxicology. She then attended Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine, and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She completed an internship at the prestigious Veterinary Specialty Hospital, in San Diego California. After her internship, she joined the Animal Medical Center in New York City, for her residency in Medical Oncology. She completed her residency, and became board certified with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology) in 2009. In 2010, Dr. Arteaga packed up her life and headed out west – to California. Dr. Arteaga started Animal Cancer Center in 2015. It had always been a life-long goal to build a practice where she could provide a level of care and compassion for her patients, that not only supported the pets, but their families. In her spare time, Dr. Arteaga loves hiking with her three dogs; Clyde, Maya, and Clay.
